LINDENHURST, N.Y. -- A Long Island man is accused of robbing cash from a bank after pretending he had a gun and threatening to shoot a customer.
Police say the 38-year-old suspect was arrested getting into a cab on Seventh Street in Lindenhurst. He is charged with robbery in the heist at the Chase Bank branch on North Wellwood Avenue.
Police say he walked into the bank about 2:08 p.m. Friday and handed a note to a teller demanding cash. The teller handed him cash from a drawer when he threatened to shoot a customer, police said.
The Lindenhurst man is expected to be arraigned Saturday
