Saturday, 12.20.2008, 10:50pm (GMT) NEW YORK -- A storm system that clobbered the Midwest moved into the Tri-State area on Friday, grounding more hundreds of flights and giving schoolchildren an early start to the holiday break. And more snow is on the way for Sunday. On Saturday, pockets of light freezing rain or light freezing drizzle and light snow are making roads treacherous for Tri-State Area motorists. In fact, the roads are so icy in West Nyack, a snowplow slid and crashed into a house. TRACK the STORM HERE A winter storm watch is in effect north and west of the city beginning late Saturday evening until Sunday morning The National Weather Service is calling for another round of snow in northern New Jersey later tonight through tomorrow afternoon. The storm could dump as much as six inches on the region. It's expected to hit New Jersey by about 3 a.m. and continue into the afternoon. Traffic and Transit Delays | Airport Delays Expert Senior Meteorologist Bernie Rayno says that the week before Christmas could be the stormiest week of the winter of 2008 - 2009. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he's hoping a little winter weather might put New Yorkers in a holiday shopping mood, so they will go out and spend more money.
